The roots of Tahincioğlu Holding go back to 1927, when the Tahincioğlu family began producing crushed sesame seeds. The family started working in Mardin and eventually moved to Diyarbakır and İstanbul. Its business activities have grown to include real estate development, construction, agriculture, services, manufacturing, energy and informatics.

The family established Tahincioğlu Holding in 1993 to create an umbrella organization for all of its businesses. It protects them and develops their variety, giving them a unified corporate management that coordinates and supervises their different functions.

Tahincioğlu Holding has developed partnerships with a number of world-class companies, including: Cadbury Schweppes, Warner Lambert, Cargill, Ralston Purina, Chupa-Chups, Lawson Mardon and the Raffles Group (Swissotel). Since Kent Gıda was sold to Cadbury Schweppes, Tahincioğlu has focused on real estate development, construction, manufacturing, as well as the energy and service sectors.
